English or Tagalog?

"Ako'y Pilipino... Tagalog ang wika ko."

I am proud to be a Filipino. I am proud of my mother tongue. Even international news keep on informing us that the Philippines is already number 1 in Business Processing Outsourcing or as call center agents because of our English proficiency skills, it doesnt really mean that this is a measure of our love to foreign language.  For me it stands for Filipinos adaptability and versatility to anything that requires advancement.
Yes, for so many years, it is the effect of colonialism on us since the Spanish era up to the Japanese world war time. And up to now, we keep on studying their language to adapt ourselves in their land for us to find a greener pasture that we can't see in our native country.  But still, our heart belongs to our mother land and still wants to speak our mother tongue.
Look at other Asian nation, they did not take mastery of English language but they were able to prove success in their economy.  It is good we make ourselves learned and be proficient to foreign language but not to the point of loving it more than our own.  Immigrant kababayans from other country..keep the love of our own mother tounge alive in your children..be proud of our nation..be proud of we are Filipinos..and we speak Tagalog.
