The Ending of Romeo and Juliet

The ending of "Romeo and Juliet" was not the ending I expected. Though "Romeo and Juliet" is a tragedy, I would rather have another ending. If I was the author, I would want the ending that Romeo and Juliet got back to each other again. My ending would be a happy one. After all the trials they have gone into, I want all of those to be worth it. After Romeo sacrificing for a long time, he will go to Juliet and when Juliet is awake, they'll be together again. Romeo will not go to the apothecary anymore. Romeo will receive the letter from Juliet and he will wait for Juliet to wake up. I want  both of them to be happy again. But, they would still die in the end. Because it is a tragedy. Because Romeo was banished in Verona, when  both of them went out of the church, the Prince thought it is Romeo only. Both of them were killed by the Prince and his company. At the end, the Prince went to jail for killing the daughter of the Capulet. He was sentenced and jailed for a lifetime. When Romeo and Juliet died, the Montague and Capulet became friends at the end, realizing the sacrifices and hard works of their son and daughter.  They realized that Romeo and Juliet had an everlasting love that can never be replaced.
