Maria Clara

Maria Clara is regarded as the most beautiful and widely celebrated lady in the town of San Diego. Maria Clara, being religious, the epitome of virtue, “demure and self-effacing” and endowed with beauty, grace, and charm, was promoted by Rizal as the “ideal image” of a Filipino woman who deserves to be placed on the “pedestal of male honor”.

I admire Maria Clara a lot because she is a well-mannered lady. Although I live in a modern world, like Maria Clara, as a teen, I want to be respected by men. Men nowadays when it comes to courting are too fast. They make use of technologies through communication which sometimes leads to bad things. As a young girl, I want the way how the girls are being courted before because at that time, you will know if you can really trust the guy and if he is really serious with you.

I'm very lucky that I had the chance to talk with Maria Clara. She asked me spend an afternoon with her politely. At first, I didn't know what to do. I was very shocked that she wants to talk to me. We went at their house. Their house was very clean and big. I feel like there is no dust in there. Their home was good enough for a beautiful lady like her. But before going to their house, she asked me to bring a paper and a pen. She also asked me to bring clothes and girl's magazine. At their home, she greeted me well. She prepared a good dish of salad, biscuits and an orange juice for me. While having my paper and pen, she asked me to write my ideal guy. We were having a good time laughing and talking about guys. Even when she is laughing, she is still to pretty and she really has the manners. She was smiling at me all the time and she said that if I admire her, she admires me too. It was because that although the Filipino men already changed,at least I was able to handle my suitors well. She said that it is good that I'm open with my mom regarding about my love life and that I don't let any guy take me as an easy to get. While using the clothes, she asked me to make a new clothes for her. She said that she wants to feel how the modern clothing is. I had no choice even thought that I don't want her to change wearing a Filipiniana, I still let her to wear our modern clothes. She still seemed pretty wearing a pants and a good blouse. She said that my fashion taste are good. I told her that the girls today, some are still trying to be conscious and they show their skins while some, it is alright for them to wear sexy clothing.

After a long talk it was almost six o'clock and I told her that it's time for me to go home. I said goodbye and we had a beso beso before I left their house. She said that hopefully we can talk again next time. It was a very good afternoon for me. I met someone who's well-respected and has good manners. I hope that her traits will never changed. Somehow, I'm hoping that I can also be like her. I wish to be respected and that's it.

Feels Like Hell!

Oh! It's Monday again. I still want to sleep but it's already 6:00 A.M. I know I'm living near the school but I should arrive on time because I know Sir Tom is already waiting for the late comers. That's the first hell in school. Every Monday, we need to arrive at the school before 6:30 A.M. That's too early for me. It feels like hell for me. If you will arrive late, your punishment is that you're absent for the first subject in the morning. You will make a letter saying why you're late and what you should do to change for the better. I admit it. I'm always a late comer. It's because I always sleep late at night. I know it's my fault and that's why I experience that hell.
The second hell in school for me goes for the boys. Their haircuts! It's a big deal in our school because it's a part of the policy. This thing goes to Sir Tom also. If you're a boy and you will not have your hair cut the way it should be, then you can be scolded or you will squat during the flag retreat.
The third hell for me would be the need for the parent's signature in every homeworks or projects. It feels like hell because you need a parent's signature and if you don't have, you'll be zero. This thing applies to all teachers who gives homeworks and projects.  This seems to be a big problem for a person who always cram like me. Fortunately, my mom never forgets to sign my homework! That's why I'm lucky.
I don't like to say that it always feels like hell in school but Monday would be the hell day for me. It's more fun in CavSci , our school that's why it shouldn't feel like hell. :)
